Each of the verses below do not have a word that can be translated as “other” in the Greek. It is interesting that in each of the verses below the topic is about Christ! It seems that the NWT has allowed their religious doctrines to affect their translation.
John 3:31 (NWT 2013) The one who comes from above is over all others. The one who is from the earth is from the earth and speaks of things of the earth. The one who comes from heaven is over all others.
John 10:29 (NWT 2013) What my Father has given me is something greater than all other things, and no one can snatch them out of the hand of the Father.
Romans 8:32 (NWT 2013) Since he did not even spare his own Son but handed him over for us all, will he not also, along with him, kindly give us all other things.
Philippians 2:9 (NWT 2013) For this very reason, God exalted him to a superior position and kindly gave him the name that is above every other name…
Colossians 1:16-20 (NWT 2013) 16 because by means of him all other things were created in the heavens and on the earth, the things visible and the things invisible, whether they are thrones or lordships or governments or authorities. All other things have been created through him and for him. 17 Also, he is before all other things, and by means of him all other things were made to exist, 18 and he is the head of the body, the congregation. He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, so that he might become the one who is first in all things*; 19 because God was pleased to have all fullness to dwell in him, 20 and through him to reconcile to himself all other things by making peace through the blood he shed on the torture stake, whether the things on the earth or the things in the heavens.
* Note: this instance of “all things” is exactly the same root word in Greek (πᾶς) as the 5 other instances in bold in this passage of verse 16-20. However, in the other instances the NWT adds the word “other” before the word “things”, except in this verse!
